St. Joe's and Penn have battled for the top spot in Tier I for the last couple seasons, and this season is no different. However on this night, SJU was the clear victor, thumping the Quakers 9-3. Chris Martin had a huge five point night (4G, 1A) and Hawks' defenseman Matt Vogel set up all four Martin tallies, as the Hawks leapfrogged Penn in the standings.

#48 Steve Scavone (F)
After Penn 2 notched the game's first goal, WCU's Steve Scavone scored two goals less than 50 seconds apart in the first period to give the Rams the lead, and they never looked back, winning the game 11-1. Scavone would score a pair of second period goals, as well as assisting on and then scoring the last two in the third.
