Regular season matchup:
Rowan won both games over Cabrini 9-2 and 8-4
Championship matchup:
Rowan wins both games over Cabrini 9-7, 9-4
Game 1:
Rowan - 9, Cabrini - 7
Game 1 saw the Rowan score first with a Chuck Van Fossen goal, but it was the game Cavaliers that took an early lead after two Brian Bell goals - both shorthanded on the same kill. Rowan's Jared Silber and Pete Hamilton would put the Profs back in the lead until Bell tied the score with his third goal of the period. The Cavs left the first period with the lead after Mike Holland buried a late goal to go up 4-3. The second period saw Rowan's Adam Cohen and Silber score two goals to Cabrini's one (Bill Batista), and the game headed into the third deadlocked in every sense of the word. The third period went almost a full five minutes without a score; Holland found the back of the net right around the ten minute mark. Unfortunately for the Cavs, a few seconds later goaltender Chris Snyder suffered a knee injury that the Profs jumped on right away to reclaim the lead. Cabrini coach Rich DeMatteo was forced to go to a cold Chris Orlando in between the pipes, but two more goals from Rowan put Rowan up 8-6. Never giving up, Brian Bell scored with only 37 seconds left in the game to give the Cavs a fighting chance. Profs goalie Kevin Sallee shut the door from that point on, and Taylor Devlin's empty netter sealed game 1 for Rowan.
Game 2:
Rowan - 9, Cabrini - 4
Tasting victory in game 1, Rowan came out on first in game 2. Devlin picked up the first goal of the next game with an early tally that Holland matched two minutes later. From that point however, Rowan owned the play. Van Fossen, Joe Sasdelli, and Hamilton all scored before the end of the first, and the second tilt was looking like a runaway. Not to go quietly, Cabrini matched Rowan in the second period as some familiar names continued to find twine. Devlin and Van Fossen sandwiched a Holland powerplay goal and a Bell score from Holland. At 6-3, it would take all that was left in the Cavs tank to keep the series alive. Holland scored in the third to give the Cavs a fighting chance...but from that point on, it was all Rowan. Devlin, Silber, and Van Fossen scored in succession to end the game, and earn Rowan the Tier II Championship Trophy in their first season
