The West opened up the game with a trifecta of DCCC scoring. Pat Gardner tallied the game's first goal just over two minutes in. Teammate Joey O'Neill showed some all-star flare with a "Michigan" goal two minutes later, and Gardner struck with his second shortly after Brian Bell (Cabrini) had cut the West lead in half. The West doubled up the East in goals in the first, 6-3. St.

On Sunday night, April 25, four teams in Tier I and four teams in Tier II had one thought on their minds: advancing to the championship. By the end of the evening the match-ups were completed.

Rowan University got the ball rolling first by dispatching a game Drexel 2 team. While the teams had to go to overtime earlier in the season, this night was all Rowan. The Profs and Dragons traded goals in the first period, but after that Rowan had the rink tilted in their favor. Nine different players factored in the scoring for Rowan who won handily, 7-2.

Feasterville, PA - While the PCRHL is off this week from games, the ECRHA held its Regional Championships this weekend at the Sportsplex in Feasterville, PA. The ECRHA (regional) and NCRHA (national) are parent leagues to the PCRHL, and many of the same schools compete there as well as in the PCRHL. Many ECRHA players have PCRHL history in their resumes; the championships thus promote all that is good in collegiate roller hockey.

This year's ECRHA regional championships were well attended by PCRHL member schools. Division II boasted teams from Drexel, Rowan, and West Chester as well as past PCRHL member teams Neumann and Temple. Temple and West Chester were also active in the B Division championships.

After a long weekend of play, The West Chester University Rams have emerged as the Division II champions, defeating Rowan 4-2 in the championship game! WCU defeated Neumann in a tight 5-4 semifinal game to reach the championship, while Rowan upset previously undefeated (and top seeded) Brockport to reach the final game. Both Drexel and Temple made it out of pool play; Drexel lost to Pitt in the play-in game while Temple lost to West Chester in the quarterfinals. Temple and West Chester's B teams both made it to the semi-final games on opposite sides of the bracket.

Tremendous congratulations go out to all member teams, especially West Chester who will receive an automatic bid to NCRHA National championships. Both Rowan and Neumann should receive National bids, while Temple will wait to see how their luck turns out on bid-day.
With each game having direct effect on the standings, every point available down the stretch is key. Penn State and Lehigh hooked up for a tightly contested (and particularly physical game). PSU escaped with a 3-2 victory due in large part to Whitmore's goaltending, as the Nittany Lions goalie saw a first period goal sneak by before shutting the door for most of the rest of the game.
The Dragons have been neck-and-neck with Villanova most of the season, and Drexel edged Nova this past week to draw even in the standings behind an excellent goaltending effort from Jimmy Heisler. The Drexel netminder allowed only one 2nd goal period goal in the low-scoring game, and that stinginess between the pipes kept Nova from coming close the rest of the way

St. Joseph's University
#24 Chris Martin (F), #2 Matt Vogel (D)
St. Joe's and Penn have battled for the top spot in Tier I for the last couple seasons, and this season is no different. However on this night, SJU was the clear victor, thumping the Quakers 9-3. Chris Martin had a huge five point night (4G, 1A) and Hawks' defenseman Matt Vogel set up all four Martin tallies, as the Hawks leapfrogged Penn in the standings.

West Chester University
#48 Steve Scavone (F)
After Penn 2 notched the game's first goal, WCU's Steve Scavone scored two goals less than 50 seconds apart in the first period to give the Rams the lead, and they never looked back, winning the game 11-1. Scavone would score a pair of second period goals, as well as assisting on and then scoring the last two in the third.

Drexel University
#17 Corey DeMarco (F)
Drexel pulled their record back to even on the season with a narrow victory over PSU, and Corey was the difference in the game, scoring four of the Dragons' goals, including the game winner, and assisting on two others. Working at the other end of the rink, with PSU pushing for the tying goal, Corey laid out to block two shots and preserve the Drexel win.

Rowan University
#3 Jared Silber (F)
Jared Silber is showing early on in the season that he's one of Rowan's main playmakers, assuming the team leading assist total after notching three assists in the Profs' game against West Chester. Adding two goals to his points on the night, Silber factored into three of the first four goals on the night, and Rowan never trailed after the Silber-lead start.

Cabrini College
#18 Mike Holland (F)
Cavs forward Mike Holland is no stranger to the top of the stats leaderboard. Last season's Tier II point leader and all-star game MVP had a 6 point effort against Penn 2, in a 10-0 win. Holland found the back of the net five times and added a helper in the convincing Cabrini win.

Ursinus College
#15 Dorie Herndon (F)
Ursinus escaped a close game with Villanova 2 this past week, notching a slim 7-6 win. Herndon's effort was largely the difference in the game, as he had 4 goals including the overtime game winner with just over a minute left in OT. Herndon is making a splash in the early part of his first year in the PCRHL; a sign that should bode well for the Bears.

University of Pennsylvania
#10 Perry Clarkson (F)
Clarkson is on fire to start the season. UPenn is sitting atop the Tier I mountain, and Clarkson's 6pt. night this past week is a part of the reason why. Clarkson added 2 goals to his season leading total, and showed his playmaking skills with 4 assists against a game Villanova team. The 6-3 Penn win saw #10 factor into each Quaker goal.

Lehigh University
#3 Nick Anshant (F)
Nick Ashant helped Lehigh kick off their season with a bang, notching 5 points (4G, 1A) in the Mountain Hawks' game against PSU-Brandywine. Ashant was a key component of Lehigh's Tier II team last season, but looks as though he is more than holding his own in Tier I thus far this season.

University of Pennsylvania
#10 Perry Clarkson (F)
UPenn sniper Perry Clarkson picked up where he left off last year, and that is scoring goals in bunches. Clarkson netted 5 goals in UPenn's 8-2 win over Widener, and is well on his way to topping last year's league leading goal total (29).

Cabrini College
#35 Chris Orlando (G)
Chris Orlando backstopped Cabrini to a win over Penn's Tier II team, with a solid shutout. One of the top goalies in Tier II last season, Orlando looks to lead the Cavs back to the championship. With a 0.00 GAA so far, the Cavs' keeper is right on track.
