TIER I POOL PLAY WRAPS

 April 23rd, 2012 at 7:59AM  April 23rd, 2012 9:25PM
Tier I pool play wrapped up this weekend, and the weekend saw a significant change from the regular season standings, with Villanova and West Chester Black effectively swapping positions!  This creates a most interesting set of semi-final match-ups!

To no one's surprise, St. Joseph's continued their dominance of Tier I with victories over all 4 other teams.  Villanova put together three extremely strong weeks and vaulted into the #2 seed, trumping all other teams less SJU.  Drexel held steady in the #3 slot, breaking even with a 2-2 record.  West Chester Black had a rough pool play set, but notched a crucial win over Penn that will propel them into the semi's.  Penn was a game challenger in their four games, but failed to lock down any points, and now sees their season come to an end.

Tier II pool play was scheduled to end as well this past week, however due to weather issues affecting the Arena roof, two games were postponed.  The Tier II seedings will be determined at the conclusion of these games, along with the schedule for "Semifinal Sunday".
